Bloody Mary Submitted by Pseudomuse You know the tale, I won’t bore you with the whole tale of how kids say her name into a mirror 3 times and she appears and kills them. That’s the boring tale that we all know and it isn’t all that interesting is it? I’m guessing you are expecting me to tell you it’s all true, that she actually exists. I’m not going to do that. You wouldn’t believe me and I don’t want you to believe me. Instead I’m going to share a discovery I made about the whole story. You see, the original story has kids saying her name into a mirror right? They stand in front of it and say her name. Bloodymary. But why do you think it is that they stand in front of a mirror? Well obviously she needs a reflection of some kind doesn’t she. As soon as you say her name that third time she is able to appear, standing behind you in your reflection, manic grin on her face, blood dripping from her matted hair and her hands reaching for your throat.But why only a mirror? Any reflection would work right? As long as you can see your reflection. Think of it this way, if you turn off your monitor you can see your reflection in the screen. Now, you probably are wondering why I’m telling you this tale, well…I must admit, I have an ulterior motive here. Every single time I’ve said her name you’ve been saying it out loud, you just haven’t noticed. You’ve whispered it under your breath. I’ve said her name twice already, so now I leave the choice up to you. Will you turn off your monitor tonight before going to bed, and look at yourself in your reflection? And say the final word that will confirm all your fears?
